Forty-two women receive their certificates after a year of adult literacy classes.
The class began in October 2025 with forty-two women, most of whom had never held a pen. Over the year they learned to read, to write their own names, and to fill in the forms that decide whether a family gets a clinic appointment or a school place.
Families, teachers and the Shoubra programme team will be there. Certificates at 17:30, tea in the courtyard afterwards.
